Inspired by the love and communal efforts of young adults running an organic farm in Northern Italy

A fond memory from the farm in autumn - by the warmth of the afternoon sun, this hubcap sat on an old stump beneath some fallen leaves. It reminded me that treasures can be found anywhere, and just below the surface.

I was once told that fairies live in mushrooms...so when you see them growing in your lawn or garden, know that fairies have visited and thank them for their presence. What magical fairy presence will you find in your garden?

On December 21, 2012, I witnessed magic in the sky - a rainbow around the sun - something I had never seen before. It was amazing, and I couldn't understand why no one else driving along seemed to see it. I stopped on Old School Road near Creditview Road and captured this amazing phenomenon.

Take a beautiful hike up Pumawanka mountain in Urubamba, Peru - you will find this river of clean, cold glacier water to cleanse your soul. Many spirits joined my group on this hike up to a historical shaman site, rarely visited by tourists, but passed daily by local farmers as they travel from their mountain home to the village.

In Vidracco, a little village north of Turin, Italy, the community has restored an old 1800's flour mill that sat abandoned for over 50 years. I learned here that this area was famous for apple cider prior to the Roman era, and there used to be over 1000 apple species. Today, there are now about 120 different apple species.

An early morning sunrise on the farm with these beautiful little music makers. The verse is an excerpt from my poem "Sun-Sets and Sun-Rises", reminding me that life continues with each sunrise. It was published in Sibyl Magazine in 2014. Find the full poem on my blog.

A mantra to ground the soul and breathe expansion and fluidity into your body. This piece was written for a friend to inspire movement and to keep him going during a race. This summer sunset was captured in Port Elgin, Ontario.

Dandelion wishes remind us that our journey continues even when we let go...Like the flight of a dandelion seed, "Let go and watch yourself soar" - this phrase is an adaptation from my poem "Wide Open" which can be found on my blog.

Turin is full of culture and amazing architecture - an enjoyable walking tour with or without rain. Via Po is a major road through the Piazza Vittoria Veneto and crosses the River Po. Many treasures await discovery!

Take a walk in the enchanted forest (Bruce side trail from the Glen Williams cemetery to 10th line and 22nd Sideroad), and you'll find great old cedars, intertwined together, telling magical stories of cooperation, collaboration, love and companionship.

At the Brantford Zoo, Ontario The peacock is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we show our true colors. Maybe this is why I admire their beauty and color so much - be true to yourself.

Many times I have sat and watched spirits dance in the flames, creating magical warmth...I believe their message is this - life is like a campfire - a work of art - be the artist of your own life, just as the fire spirits create their dance in the flames.
